• East Gaston High: The ROTC Military Ball is Friday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Cramer Mountain Country Club. … The second six-week grading period ends Nov. 22.

• Francis Bradley Middle: Every Friday is Bradley Spirit Day. … The fall book fair starts Monday, Nov. 15. … Students can make up their fall pictures Tuesday, Nov. 16. … Eighth-grade parents meet Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria to discuss the students’ trip to the Outer Banks. … Chick-fil-A at Northlake Mall hosts a Bradley Spirit night from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16. • Mountain Island Elementary: The school holds a canned food drive the week of Nov. 15.

• Paw Creek Elementary:  Parent University’s Study Island meets Thursday, Nov. 18, at 3 p.m. … The school hosts Parent Involvement Night Thursday, Nov. 18, beginning at 6 p.m.

• River Oaks Academy: The school holds a Night of the Arts for third- through fifth-grade students Thursday, Nov. 18 beginning at 4 p.m. with the opening of the Art Fair in the Cafeteria. The Art Fair will be open until 7 p.m.  Fourth- and fifth-grade students offer a musical performance during this time, and every student will have a framed piece of work on display.  Parents have the option to purchase the artwork for $22. All proceeds from sale of the artwork will benefit the school’s arts program. … The school is collecting canned food items to donate to the Loaves and Fishes food pantry. Students may bring canned food items to their classrooms. The school accepts donations until Tuesday, Nov. 23.
