Hopewell student heads to Raleigh Governor’s Office

Hopewell High School sophomore Justyce Szikszai has been selected to participate in the North Carolina Governor’s Page Program, which gives qualifying high school students the opportunity to learn about state government hands-on in the Governor’s office in Raleigh.

Pages are assigned, as interns, to a cabinet-level agency or Council of State office within the state government complex and will meet the governor, attend press conferences, participate in service projects, and tour historic landmarks, including the State Capitol, Legislative Building, Executive Mansion and Supreme Court.

Justyce, 15, the daughter of Mark and Jennifer Szikszai, of Huntersville, will head to Raleigh March 7 to 15.  In addition to strong academic performance, she is a varsity cheerleader, has participated in Girl Scouts for 11 years and has logged many hours volunteering.
