Lincoln Charter keeps focus on technology

DENVER – Lincoln Charter School, with campuses in Denver and Lincolnton, is making technology a priority.

The school this year has invested time and money to bring its technology up to current standards and meet students’ and staff members’ needs. So far this year, the school’s technology initiative includes:

• Purchase of 70 laptops. This investment allows the school to continue use of mobile computer labs available to all middle and high school teachers and students.

• Donation of $25,000. The school’s Parent-Teacher Organization recently donated the money to the school, it used to purchase 18 interactive whiteboards and supporting equipment. Ninety percent of the school’s classrooms now have interactive whiteboards.

• Purchase of an Internet-based program that allows parents of students in third through 12 grade to securely access their students’ grades online. Through this program, teachers update and maintain a page for each of their classes, containing information about projects and assessment.

•  Web site development.  The school developed a new website, www.lincolncharter.org, that is social-media friendly and features a parent blog, school calendar and all information related to the school.
