Teachers and staff members at Mountain Island Elementary School wore red last week in support of public education. They joined the nationwide movement,“wear red for public ed.”

They then delivered their ‘photo petition’ to legislators, who met last Wednesday, Jan. 26 in Raleigh, “so they can see the faces of thousands of educators who support public education,” Teacher Kisha Whitney said.
