Southern food discussion comes to Davidson

DAVIDSON – If you’re looking for a mouth-watering discussion about the South’s best food and the writers who talk about it, look no further than Davidson College on Nov. 8.
Fred Sauceman and Dan Huntley, both contributors to the latest volume of “Cornbread Nation: The Best of Southern Food Writing,” are the guest panelists.

Sauceman, the editor of the volume, is a professor at East Tennessee State University known for his understanding of Southern food and traditions. Huntley, of York, S.C., will appear on the upcoming Larry the Cable Guy’s new History Channel show about the America experience and recently cooked for news legend Mike Wallace on his birthday.

The speakers will take the stage at 7 p.m. at the Lilly Family Gallery. Tickets are $8 for the general public and $4 for Levine Museum of the New South and Davidson Friends of the Arts members.  Both organizations are sponsoring the event along with the University of Georgia Press.
