West Mecklenburg High evacuated after bomb threat

Students at West Mecklenburg High School were evacuated from the school after a bomb scare Tuesday, Nov. 22, according the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
A woman called the school’s front office about 9 a.m. and told a secretary that bombs hidden in the gym were set to explode.

School security officers evacuated the gym but in a subsequent search police found nothing suspicious. The police department’s arson unit is investigating the incident. No other information was available by press time.
