Therapeutic Rec invites the public to “Beauty is a Beast”

CHARLOTTE – Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation’s Therapeutic Recreation program offers a free performance of “Beauty is a Beast” at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 1900 Emerywood Drive, on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m. The show is part of Therapeutic Recreation’s “All About the Arts” program.

The performance is the culmination of 14 weeks of preparation that included voice projection, set design, expression and choreography by teens and young adults.

All About the Arts is a series of programs designed to provide people with disabilities the opportunity to experience all forms of art from theater to photography.

The next performance in the series is the musical “Grease,” which will be performed in spring 2011.
