Arm wrestling for children in need

ZX Fitness, located in Harrisburg, is asking Charlotte residents to come down Jan. 15 and show off their best arm-wrestling skills to help those served by the Ebenezer Christian Children’s Home.

The home, founded in 1994 in North Wilkesboro, serves as a living and nurturing home to displaced children from Wilkes and surrounding counties in the North Carolina mountains. People can enter the arm-wrestling tournament for $25, with all proceeds going to the home. Donations of school supplies, toilet paper and clothes also may be made.

Former national arm-wrestling champions Paul Walter and James Retarides will take part in the event, which starts Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. ZX Fitness is located at 5650 Hwy. 49 South in Harrisburg.
