Learn to install rain gardens Saturday

DENVER – Lincoln County, the Lincoln Natural Resources Committee, the Lake Norman Covekeepers and library garden volunteers are sponsoring a rain garden class Saturday, Feb. 19.

Learn how to design and install a rain garden to control storm water, remove pollutants, and reduce erosion. Participants should wear work clothes, sturdy shoes and gloves. Bringing shovels and rakes would also be helpful, but those items are not required

The event is at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Florence Shanklin Library, 7837 Fairfield Forest Road in Denver.

Check the riverkeeper’s website,  www.catawbariverkeeper.org, in the case of bad weather.  For more information, contact Ben Benoit at 704-489-6249.
