Macy’s hosting black history panel

In celebration of the contributions of African-Americans, Macy’s at Northlake Mall will host some of Charlotte’s African-American activists and pioneers to share their personal success stories.

On Feb. 26 at 2 p.m., they’ll discuss why discovering your unique image and personal style is vital to finding your success. Janine Davis, television and radio personality and founder and executive director of Girl Talk Foundation, will moderate the panel.

Panelists include Hasaan Kirkland, associate professor of fine art at Johnson C. Smith University; Martha Perez and Tierra Parsons, co-founders of Precious Gems Mentoring Group; and Gordon James, painter and children’s book illustrator.
