Rain garden likely for Tuckaseege Park

Tuckseege Park could be getting a rain garden.

On Monday, March 28, Parks and Recreation Director Ed Smith asked the council to approve the rain garden in an area between the dog park and playground equipment. The garden would help lessen erosion and flooding problems at the lower sidewalk at the walking trail, meet educational criteria and components for the city’s storm water department and beautify the park.

Funding for the rain garden would come from a grant through the Gaston County Natural Resources Department, and Parks and Recreation and Natural Resources staff would built it.

The council will discuss the item at its April 11 meeting.
