Whitewater Center hosts a number of events this month

CHARLOTTE – The U.S. National White Water Center will host a number of events this month. Some of those include:

• Microbrews Cruise: Kayakers will be able to enjoy some flatwater paddling along the Catawba River followed by a campfire lit dinner and beer tasting on hawk island. The event costs $55 and takes place every two weeks. The next Microbrews Cruise is June 15 when paddlers will get a chance to sample Woodchuck Cider.

• The Great American Backyard Campout: Visitors will get a chance to camp out under the stars at Hawk Island June 25 and 26 and receive some environmental education and flatwater kayaking. Registration is required and the event costs $40 per person.
