Christmas art shows benefits American Heart Association

MOUNT HOLLY – The American Heart Association has partnered with the Catawba River Artisans for the group’s second annual Christmas on Main event in Mount Holly.
The Nov. 19 fine art show features the theme “Art 2 Heart,” and a percentage of sales will benefit the American Heart Association. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors can peruse pieces at the City Café and The Gallery@City, both at 128 S. Main St. in downtown Mount Holly.
“The Catawba River Artisans have put a lot of heart and soul into their art,” said Diana May, an auction director with the American Heart Association. “That’s one of the reasons we are excited to be a part of this year’s Christmas on Main event.”
The show includes original, handcrafted artwork by local and regional artists and members of the Catawba River Artisan group. JS Pottery in Stanley has designed commemorative pottery pieces using the “Art 2 Heart” logo. All proceeds from a silent auction featuring the show’s artists will go the American Heart Association. Artist booths are available to rent for $50. Half of all proceeds from booth rental fees will go to the American Heart Association.
“As the two leading causes of death for men and women, heart disease and stroke touch almost everyone in the same way,” May said. “This event is a unique opportunity for residents in Mount Holly and Gaston County to support a great charity and a great group of artists.”
The Catawba River Artisans is a collaborative group of diverse artists dedicated to the promotion of arts and culture in downtown Mount Holly. For more information about renting a booth, contact Renee Clemmer at or go online to For information about the event, call Diana May at 704-208-5510.
