Randall Kelley hired as CaroMount Health CEO

GASTONIA – CaroMont Health, parent company for Gaston Memorial Hospital, announced last month it has hired a new CEO.

Randall L. Kelley, 53, takes the reigns this month from Valinda Rutledge, who announced her plans to leave the Gastonia-based healthcare company in May to serve as the Director of Patient Care Models Group at the CMS Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation.

“CaroMont Health has an amazing story to tell, and I am eager to lead an organization whose focus is on high-quality, low cost and patient-centered,” Kelley said. “CaroMont is today what every other organization aspires to be.”

Kelley served as Senior Vice President of Inova Health System and CEO of Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Va., a position he held since 2006. Prior to this role, he was president and CEO of Gateway Health Service/Triad Hospitals in Clarksville, Tenn., and also worked for Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio, and Bixby Medical Center in Adrian, Mich.
