Help Mecklenburg County by reporting coyote sightings

CHARLOTTE – To help Mecklenburg County keep track of coyotes throughout the area, the county’s Park and Recreation Natural Resources staff has created a website where residents may report coyote sightings.

“Compiling this information that the general public can provide us will be extremely helpful in allowing us to get a handle on the population size and ‘hot spot’ locations of our coyotes,” said Chris Matthews, county resource manager, in an email.

Visit www.charmeck.org for information about coyote biology and behavior, a list of companies who specialize in removing coyotes from property and links to other online sources about coyotes.
