Mount Holly approves new logo and slogan

MOUNT HOLLY – Mount Holly will soon upgrade its marketing image with an update to the city’s logo and slogan.

The Mount Holly City Council approved the change at its Jan. 9 meeting. Concord-based American Classic signs designed the image, which was chosen by the Mount Holly Economic Development Committee from a variety of options.

Mount Holly Planning Director Greg Beal told the council that the town should focus on giving its image a higher profile.

“We have the Democratic National Convention coming soon,” Beal said. “We need to market ourselves and develop our own brand. This design is a culmination of months of hard work.”

The design presented features the name “Mount Holly,” in bold, dark red letters. A stylized, green holly leaf; a blue splash of water representing the Catawba River; and a green swoosh signifying nature complete the figure. The logo tag read s“Connecting Community and Nature.”

The plan calls for the logo to appear on hats, jackets, shirts, signs, bumper stickers and print media,” he said.
