Community Blood center plans November drives

Community Blood Centers of the Carolinas will hold several blood drives in Gaston County in November.

• Nov. 10: 9 a.m.-noon at Spencer Mountain Road Volunteer Fire Department, 1011 Dallas-Stanley Hwy., Dallas.

Nov. 16: 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Forestview High School, 5545 Union Road, Gastonia. Donors receive a free T-shirt.

• Nov. 24: 4-8 p.m. at Regal Cinema‑Franklin Square, 3778 East Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, Donors receive a free movie ticket.

The blood center is also kicking off the 2012 holiday season with its annual “Puppies for Patients” program. Donors who give blood in November and December will be able to sign a tag that will then be attached to a stuffed puppy and delivered to children in local hospitals.
