Detectives investigate toddler death

CHARLOTTE – Detectives are investigating the death of a 3-year-old that patrol officers found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound April 13 at the 700 block of Glasgow Road.
Detectives believe the child was inside the home when he was shot. Preliminary information indicated no foul play involved, officials said. Police received the call for service at 1:21 p.m.
Family members who were inside the home at the time of the shooting are cooperating with the investigation. Detectives canvassed the neighborhood for witnesses.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak to a homicide detective. Detective Grande is the lead detective assigned to the case.
