Gardening club holds plant sale

DALLAS – The Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Group of Gaston County will hold its annual plant sale, featuring perennials, trees, shrubs, herbs and vegetables from members’ gardens.
The sale starts at 8 a.m. May 2 at the Citizens Resource Center, 1303 Cherryville Hwy.
Other items include garden yard sale items such as books, garden art, flower pots and more. Additionally, there will be a garden-themed raffle. Cash and credit card sales accepted.
Proceeds from the annual event are used to fund Extension Master Gardner educational programs. Three of these one-hour programs that are open to the public at no cost are as follows:
• May 21, 10 a.m., Craig LeHoullier presents “Heirloom Tomatoes;”
• July 16, 10 a.m., Sam Perkins presents “Catawba River Ecology;”
• Oct. 15, 10 a.m., Bob Solberg, Green Hill Farm, presents “Hostas.”
The Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Group of Gaston County has at least 100 volunteers serving the
community in various educational gardening activities.
